Did you catch part one<\/a> of our rundown of the people who make up our fine workshop team here at Distinctive Chesterfields? Today, we’re bringing you the second and final part into this mini, light-hearted look into the lives and loves of our team.<\/p>\n

Ashley Carrier – Head of Development<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Eddie\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Ashley (aka \u2018Eddie\u2019) Carrier is in charge of sketching out new models for our range, ensuring quality is always met and fabric and leather is measured to exact sizes to reduce wastage. Once a keen surfer, Eddie enjoys walking his three dogs in his spare time, or reading a great book.<\/p>\n

My favourite thing about the role is<\/b>: There\u2019s always something different to do here, which is great.<\/p>\n

An interesting fact about me is<\/b>\u2026I used to surf in Newquay, Cornwall in the summer \u2013 I love it.<\/p>\n

The Chesterfield I\u2019d choose is<\/b>\u2026The standard Hampton Chesterfield sofa. It\u2019s really good looking – in fact, it\u2019s more like an ornament.<\/p>\n

My favourite thing to do on the sofa is\u2026<\/b>I never get chance to sit on the sofa as my three dogs are usually laid out, taking up space! I do like to read a good book on the sofa though, when I get chance.<\/p>\n

My idea of a perfect day is<\/b>\u2026a day at the seaside with the dogs. And then I\u2019d go to the pub for a nice meal and some drinks.<\/p>\n

If I wasn\u2019t head of development, I\u2019d have also enjoyed being a<\/b>\u2026.joiner. I did joinery when I left school, and I used to work in workshops with my granddad. I\u2019d have also enjoyed being a mechanic as I love cars.<\/p>\n

Will Couch – Workshop Manager<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Will\"<\/a><\/p>\n

About Will:<\/strong>\u00a0Will has been with the company for five years, having previously worked as an electrician. Today, he efficiently manages a team of 10 upholsterers to ensure the sofas are made to the highest possible standard. \u00a0Outside of work, Will enjoys a nice stroll on a Sunday morning, taking in the Yorkshire scenery, or catching up with family and friends. Will also likes to indulge his passion for art, drawing portraits.<\/p>\n

My favourite thing about the role is…<\/b>seeing good quality furniture be distributed worldwide from such a small family-run business.<\/p>\n

An interesting fact about me is…<\/b>I’ve climbed Mount Everest<\/p>\n

The Chesterfield I\u2019d choose is<\/b>\u2026The Drummond six-seat in heritage whiskey<\/p>\n

My favourite thing to do on the sofa is\u2026<\/b>eat a ham pizza from Davinci’s<\/p>\n

My idea of a perfect day is<\/b>\u2026meeting a girl, go to a bar, have some drinks and food (preferably pizza), go home for some more drinks, watch a film (a rom com) and have some more drinks, and then go to bed.<\/p>\n

If I wasn\u2019t a workshop manager, I\u2019d have also enjoyed being a<\/b>\u2026.joiner, fitting handmade kitchens<\/p>\n

Ben Starkey – Upholsterer (‘Finishing’ department)<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"Ben\"<\/a><\/p>\n

About Ben:<\/strong>\u00a0Ben says his favourite thing about his job in the \u2018finishing\u2019 department at Distinctive Chesterfields is seeing the final product. He\u2019s in charge of buttoning the sofas, putting the front and back seats on and ensuring quality is met at all times. A Huddersfield Town football fan, Ben enjoys playing rugby and is a big fan of comedian Peter Kay.<\/p>\n

My favourite thing about the role is<\/b>\u2026The moment I see the finished product \u2013 it\u2019s a great feeling.<\/p>\n

The Chesterfield I\u2019d choose is<\/b>\u2026The Buckingham<\/a>\u00a0in Romany chocolate leather.<\/p>\n

My favourite thing to do on the sofa is<\/b>\u2026browse the internet on my laptop.<\/p>\n

If I could invite three people to a dinner party, I\u2019d choose<\/b>: Comedian Richard Ayoade from the IT Crowd, Adele (the singer), and Peter Kay.<\/p>\n

My idea of a perfect day is<\/b>\u2026a big fry up in the morning, and then I\u2019d head to Ireland for the day.<\/p>\n

Mike Thomas – Upholsterer\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

About Mike: <\/strong>Having spent many years in the upholstery industry, Mike recently joined the busy workshop here at Distinctive Chesterfields and loves the\u00a0laid back\u00a0atmosphere.<\/p>\n

My favourite thing about the job is…<\/strong>having a laugh\/banter with the rest of the workshop<\/p>\n

The Chesterfield I’d choose is…<\/strong>The Harewood, as it’s elegant and classic in look<\/p>\n

My favourite thing to do on the sofa is..<\/strong>.movie nights with my son Jacob<\/p>\n

If I could invite three people to a dinner party I’d go for.<\/strong>..George Best, Tommy Cooper and Einstein<\/p>\n

My idea of a perfect day is<\/strong>…a day at the football, in the sunshine<\/p>\n

If I could choose a new career path, it’d be…<\/strong>architecture<\/p>\n

If I was auditioning for X Factor, the song I’d sing is…<\/strong>Easy by The Commodores\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Andrew Farrell – Upholsterer\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

My idea of a perfect day is<\/b>\u2026getting everything done on time!<\/p>\n

Elliot Womersley – Upholsterer<\/strong><\/p>\n

About Adam: <\/strong>A music producer in his spare time, Adam’s a fan of rugby, boxing and travelling. He’s a recent member of the workshop team and loves working alongside his new colleagues.<\/p>\n

My favourite thing about the job is…<\/strong>the fact it’s really easy to get on with your work, as there are no distractions.<\/p>\n

The song I’d choose if I was auditioning for X Factor is…<\/strong>Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd.<\/p>\n

If I could invite three people to a dinner party I’d go for…<\/strong>Seth Rogen, Seth McFarlane, and Megan Fox.<\/p>\n
