Find Your PerfectTan Leather Chesterfield
Tan is the Chesterfield with its sleeves rolled up. Where black is formal and dark brown sits back, tan warms a room the moment it arrives and sits as happily under white walls as beside exposed brick.
A tan hide darkens where hands rest, lightens where it stretches and deepens over the years and that’s the point. Every tan Chesterfield sofa is handmade in England in our own workshop, as it has been since we started as a family business in 2007. Choose a model below, pick your tan and make it yours.

Why Choose a Tan Leather Chesterfield Sofa
Warms a room
The color of saddle leather and old satchels, it lifts a pale room the moment it arrives and suits oak, brick, sage and navy equally well.
Ages in plain sight
On pull-up leathers like Old English and Vintage the patina arrives fast, with darker arms, lighter edges and a deeper glow, so it improves yearly.
Traditional shape, modern room
Chrome trim and black legs and it’s a modern Chesterfield sofa; bronze nailheads and mahogany legs and it’s a cabin den, on the same hide.
The same build underneath
A solid beech hardwood frame, a spring seat and around 200 buttons pressed in by hand, which is why every leather Chesterfield carries a guarantee.
Choose the Right Leather

Sealed and everyday
Dune Tan, Sand and Toffee, Cracked Wax Tan. A protective top coat, so the shade stays put and spills sit on the surface until you get there. Dune has a soft distressed look and is the family tan; Cracked Wax has a gentle sheen and lightens where it stretches. Kids, dogs or dark jeans? Start right here, every time.

Distressed and warm
Old English Tan and Saddle, Vintage Tan and Cognac, Antique Harvest Gold, Saloon Biscuit, Tempesta Honey, the tan that everyone pictures. Old English is a waxy pull-up that crackles and darkens with use; Vintage is a distressed semi-aniline; Antique is hand rubbed-off for a two-tone glow; Tempesta has a velvety nubuck look. Cognac is the deepest, Biscuit the palest.

Aniline and natural
Vesuvio Tan, Legacy Bike Tan, Austen Bourbon. Dyed right through with nothing on the surface, so the grain and every scar show and that’s the whole point. Vesuvio is a Grade A fully aniline leather; Legacy and Austen are buttery pull-ups. The most beautiful tans we sell, the quickest to mark and not for a house with a dog.
Style Your Tan Leather Chesterfield

Tan in a white room
Dune Tan or Vintage Cognac against white walls and a pale oak floor, warm.

Tan in the den
Old English Tan with bronze nailheads and mahogany legs, a wool throw and a fireplace.

Tan against brick
Vintage Cognac or Old English Saddle in a loft or barn, with steel and reclaimed wood.
Keeping Your Leather Beautiful
Tan shows more than brown and forgives more than you’d think.
Dust and wipe
A soft, dry cloth once a week and on sealed tans a damp cloth wrung nearly dry lifts most marks away.
Blot spills
Right away, with a dry cloth and never with detergents, polishes, waxes or solvents, because all of them strip the finish off.
Watch the jeans and the sun
New dark denim can transfer onto the palest tans, so wash it first and avoid any strong sun.
Feed it now and then
A leather conditioner two or three times a year keeps it supple, so ask which care kit suits yours.

FAQ
Which tan should I choose?
Start with how you live, then the shade. Sealed (Dune, Cracked Wax) for kids, pets and dark jeans; distressed (Old English, Vintage, Antique) for the classic look; aniline (Vesuvio, Legacy, Austen) for the softest hide, if you don’t mind it marking. If you’re between two, order both swatches and compare.
Will tan leather darken or change color?
A sealed tan stays as it is for years, which is why it’s the one to choose if you want the color you saw in the showroom. Pull-up and aniline tans darken where they’re handled, lighten where they stretch and deepen with age; that’s the patina people buy them for.
Does tan show marks more than brown?
It does. Spills, pen and dye transfer show more on a pale hide, so choose Dune or Cracked Wax if that worries you or the sofa is going in a family room. On a pull-up tan most marks blend into the patina within weeks and become part of the character.
What goes with a tan Chesterfield sofa?
White, cream and grey walls make it glow; navy and sage make it rich; oak floors and exposed brick suit it best of all. Add a leather Chesterfield chair in the same tan for a set, or one in green velvet for a contrast that still reads as warm overall.
What size tan Chesterfield do I need?
Consider how the room will be used and measure doorways, hallways and stairs too, since a sofa has to get in before it goes anywhere. Choose a size for the space, from a club chair or loveseat to a corner Chesterfield sofa and see our sofa measuring guide for help.
