Find Your PerfectLeather Chesterfield
The leather Chesterfield sofa is the original. Deep button tufting, rolled arms and nailhead trim along the front: first made in leather in Britain in the 1700s and a leather Chesterfield couch is still what most people picture when they hear the name. A sealed hide wipes clean after the dog; a waxy pull-up softens where you sit; all of them warm to the room.
Every leather Chesterfield we sell is handmade in England in our own workshop, as it has been since we started as a family business in 2007, then shipped to the room of your choice. We cover every US tariff, so the price you see is the price you pay. Choose a model below, pick from over a hundred leathers and twelve sizes and make it yours.

Why Choose a Leather Chesterfield
Wipes clean, ages well.
A sealed leather takes juice, paws and sneakers with a wipe, while an aniline one earns a patina instead and either way it outlasts fabric.
Warm, not cold
Leather is skin, so it takes the room’s temperature within a minute of sitting down in winter and breathes rather than sticks in the summer heat.
The same build underneath
A solid beech hardwood frame, a spring seat and around 200 buttons pressed in by hand, which is why the frame carries a 25-year guarantee.
Classic or modern, your call
A distressed hide in tan or dark brown reads as the real thing, while smooth Florence Pebble with chrome trim reads as fully modern.
Choose the Right Leather

Sealed and everyday
Florence, Dune, Cracked Wax. A protective top coat, so spills sit on the surface and scratches don’t show. Florence is smooth and solid-colored, from black Chesterfield sofas in Florence Black to soft Pebble and Silver Grey; Dune has a soft distressed look in nine shades; Cracked Wax lightens where it stretches. Kids, dogs or a cream carpet? Start here.

Distressed and full of character
Antique, Old English, Saloon, Vintage, Tempesta. The classic Chesterfield look, from brown Chesterfield sofas in Antique Dark Brown and Old English Saddle to tan Chesterfield sofas in Old English Tan and Vintage Cognac. Antique leathers are hand rubbed-off for a two-tone finish, Old English is a waxy pull-up that crackles with use and Tempesta has a velvety nubuck look.

Aniline and natural
Legacy, Austen, Vesuvio. The softest hides, dyed right through with nothing on the surface, so every mark and scar shows and that’s the point. Vesuvio is a Grade A fully aniline leather in fifteen deep colors; Legacy and Austen are buttery pull-ups that soften every year. Beautiful in a quiet room, but not our first suggestion with a dog.
Style Your Leather Chesterfield

Tan for a warm, relaxed room.
Old English Tan or Dune Tan on oak legs, with a wool rug.

Dark brown or black for the den
Antique Dark Brown or Florence Black with bronze nailheads, beside the bookshelves.

Color for a modern take
Saloon Turquoise or Old English Brooklands Green with chrome trim, in an open-plan room.
Keeping Your Leather Beautiful
Leather asks for a wipe, not a routine.
Dust and wipe
A soft, dry cloth once a week. On sealed leathers, a damp cloth wrung nearly dry deals with most marks.
Blot spills
Right away, with a dry cloth and never with detergents, polishes, waxes or solvents, because all of them strip the finish off.
Keep it away from heat and sun
Not beside a fireplace, radiator or heating vent and out of strong sunlight, which fades aniline and semi-aniline hides in time.
Feed it now and then
A leather conditioner two or three times a year keeps it supple. Ask us which care kit suits your leather when you order.

FAQ
Is a leather Chesterfield sofa a good idea with kids and pets?
Yes, if you choose a sealed leather. Florence, Dune and Cracked Wax shrug off scratches and wipe clean, leather springs back after someone has lain on it and it doesn’t hold smells the way fabric does. We’d steer you away from Vesuvio if there’s a dog in the house, though.
Will it crack or peel?
Real hide doesn’t peel; that’s bonded or faux leather, which is what many big-box “leather” couches are made from. Every leather we use is a full hide, so instead of cracking it softens with use and gains a patina and any surface marks that appear are part of that character.
Leather or velvet, which should we choose?
Leather wipes clean and looks better with age, whereas a velvet Chesterfield sofa is warmer in winter, comes in more colors and starts at a lower price. If you can’t decide, a leather sofa with a velvet chair works well, because the tufting and the nailheads match across both pieces.
Do I pay import duties or tariffs?
No. We absorb all US tariff costs and ship duty paid, so no customs bill lands after checkout and the price on the product page is the price you pay in full. US mainland orders also carry our 30-day money-back guarantee, so you can change your mind once it’s home.
How long does delivery take and how does it work?
Made to order in England and delivered in 8-10 weeks, depending on your state. Our courier calls to set a date, then a two-person team carries it in, assembles it and places it in the room you choose. Can’t wait? Our Quick Ship and In Stock pieces arrive much sooner.
Can I see one before I buy it?
Sit on a few at our showroom in High Point, North Carolina, where the frames and leathers are side by side, or order five free swatches and a brochure by mail to compare against your room. If neither suits, book a video consultation and we’ll walk you through the leathers.
What size leather Chesterfield do I need?
Consider how the room will be used and measure doorways, hallways and stairs too, since a sofa has to get in before it goes anywhere. Choose a size for the space, from a club chair or loveseat to a corner Chesterfield sofa and see our sofa measuring guide for help.
Can I customize the size, nailheads and legs?
Yes. Most models come in up to five sizes and our custom service can go further, whether that’s a three-seater trimmed by six inches or a deeper seat. Choose Bronze Renaissance, Chrome or Gun Metal nailheads or leather piping and mahogany, oak, black or white legs to finish it off.
Why does a handmade leather Chesterfield cost more than a big-box one?
It’s what’s underneath and what’s on top. A solid beech frame, a spring seat and hand-set buttons take time and skill and a full hide costs more than bonded leather. It’s why the frame is guaranteed for 25 years and why you’ll only ever need to buy one of them.
