Tuning Into X Factor this Weekend?
With the new series of X Factor well and truly in swing, we thought we’d reflect on what was an exciting previous series from us here at Distinctive Chesterfields.
We’re talking, of course, about the year we donated two pieces of our own furniture to the show.
Who’d have thought it’s almost two years since Sam Bailey was crowned X Factor winner?! We certainly can’t! We remember that series like it was yesterday.
Our beautiful sofas – manufactured with the house in mind, following a request from the show’s producers – entered the house fresh and clean, just before the year’s contestants set foot through the door. And they returned to us some 10 weeks or so later, complete with the autographs of some of the series’ biggest stars. We later auctioned one of the pair of sofas on eBay, raising vital funds for children’s charity, Make a Wish.
You can see the auctioned sofa, below (simply click on the image to enlarge) as well as view some of the autographs scrawled on its beautiful red leather, including that of Kingsland Road, Rough Copy, and of course, the overall winner – Sam Bailey.
Since our sofas aired on the TV – during the show, it was sat on and enjoyed by not only the contestants but the series’ judges, too – interest in the Belchamp model soared. On our site, it’s seen in scarlet velvet, but here it’s in the same shade, but in leather. We kept the model we didn’t auction on show in our Huddersfield showroom for a some time, with many customers popping in to see that model alone.
We have since removed its leather in order to reuse the frame for a display model. The leather will soon be added to a photo frame to hang on the wall of our showroom – so there’s still time to catch a glimpse of a piece of X Factor history, folks!
In the meantime, if you’d like a sofa just like it, do not hesitate to get in touch and we’ll talk you through your options. We’re looking forward to hearing from you. Plus, don’t forget to bookmark our blog for all the latest news from the Distinctive Chesterfields’ team.
