Interiors Focus: Four Trends for Summer
Are you planning some home improvements now you have the whole summer ahead of you? It’s the perfect time to make some changes; paint will dry quicker if you can fling open those windows and you’ll feel a bit better about getting stuck in while the weather’s warmer.
So to help you on your way to a new and improved living room (or home in general!), we’re bringing you some of the key interiors trends from around the Internet. Read on…
The Tech-less Living Room
The team over at ELLE Decor say that more and more people are choosing to go ‘tech-less’ in their living room, to bring a spot of minimalism to their space. Can you imagine a living room without a TV, or even a radio though? There’s something quite nice about the sound of it, but we’re not sure how practical it’d be. I suppose you’d have to break out the Scrabble of an evening, or worse still, talk to each other.
Joking aside though, there’s a lot to be said for ridding yourself of some tech. We all spend so long on our mobile phones and online that it’d definitely be nice to bring a spot of calm back into the home.
The Psychedelic Jungle
This picture came via John Lewis in a recent Daily Mail article – and we just had to share it with you as it really is very striking. This concept is about bringing the outdoors in, in a kind of 60s psychedelic fashion. We have to say, we love it – and it’s just perfect for summer too.
Retro Orange
Real Homes have the right idea with this cool, retro look (as seen on the site). Apparently, orange is the new black when it comes to decor, and we reckon it looks just lovely in this living room, above. What do you think? If you’re looking to add a retro twist to your own home by the way, you really can’t go far wrong with a chesterfield sofa. Traditional and stylish, there’s a sofa or chair with everyone’s name on it here on the Distinctive Chesterfields site.
Rose Quartz
One of the key interiors colours for 2016, rose quartz is a huge favourite amongst homeowners looking to spruce up their home for summer. We spotted this image on the Telegraph site – and we just thought it was absolutely stunning. Do you agree?
