Take a ‘Shelfie’

Forget ‘selfies’; here on the blog today we’re talking ‘shelfies’ – a new kind of photo-taking trend sweeping the nation. Well, it is on a small scale, anyway.

Like organising your cutlery drawer, or overhauling your wardrobe, arranging your trinkets and treasures on a brand new set of shelves can be heaven for those who like their home to look ‘just so’.

Here’s some well-organised shelves we like the look of via Pinterest…

Do you love the look of this cosy nook as much as us? The perfect spot to kick back and read a book with your little one, the shelves are beautifully-arranged and and make great use of what would otherwise be unused corner space.

These simple shelves (from IKEA, apparently) look great, thanks to the monochrome bits and bobs carefully placed there. A lovely way to add interest to a kids’ bedroom, they may not be great in size, but these shelves certainly make up for that in the style stakes.

Or how about these wooden crates-turned handy shelves? We think they’d look lovely in the right room, and we like the way the homeowner has paired wooden photo frames with them for a rustic look.

These shelves (above) remind us of that old TV programme Blockbusters, thanks to their shape. They may not be the most practical of designs, but they certainly look stylish – and it’s evident whoever lives in this house and spent time carefully planning how to arrange their trinkets.
